PRIVATE EQUITY ASSOCIATE

Our client is a private equity firm with over 25 years of investment experience building healthy and growing businesses, with a strong focus in Europe and a growing presence in North America.
THE POSITION
As an Associate in the US Private Equity team, you will be involved in all phases of the investment process while simultaneously contributing to the establishment of a new US private equity business. This role offers an excellent opportunity to use your passion for entrepreneurship and investing within Private Equity. You will be challenged to develop quickly by actively participating in building a new private equity business in the US and working with the firm’s current US portfolio.
Investment process activities will range from identifying and evaluating investment opportunities to acquiring and ultimately divesting portfolio companies. As an Associate on this new team, you will be responsible for assisting with analyzing all new investment opportunities. The learning curve will be steep, and you will have the opportunity to take on as much responsibility as possible. During the investment period, you will support the management of the firm's portfolio companies in the implementation of the strategy by, for example, preparing competitive and market analyses, analyzing financial results and developing strategic initiatives.
In this role, you will play a key part in establishing a new geography for a well-established European Private Equity firm leading to additional career opportunities within this internationally growing fund with an investment focus on the US and Europe. You will have a voice and meaningful responsibilities during the investment process and the further development of the companies, as well as extensive opportunities for professional education and training to promote continuous growth of your expertise.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in the active sourcing and vetting of new investment opportunities.
- Proactive industry research and focus on expansion of the Egeria network.
- End-to-end leadership of deal processes.
- Day-to-day support and monitoring of portfolio companies.
- Build valuation or leveraged buyout models and various analysis.
- Active support and involvement in key strategic and operational projects.
- Act as a trusted sparring partner, sharing ideas with team members.
REQUIREMENTS
- 1+ years of relevant work experience in a professional working environment, e.g. as an Analyst within investment banking/M&A, consultancy, Venture Capital private equity, investment banking, (strategy) consultancy, M&A, Private Equity, Venture Capital or corporate development.
- High levels of intelligence, analytical ability combined with curiosity, grit and passion.
- A self-starter who has his/her own opinion and strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to look critically at your own content.
- Excellent communication and social skills with a strong team work ethic, bolstered by broad social interest and a sense of humor.
- Experience in small-scale entrepreneurship and/or working with entrepreneurs is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree with excellent academic results.

Compensation
Compensation is competitive with the position’s requirements. In a performance-based environment, this will include base salary and bonus structure based on corporate qualitative and quantitative milestones.
