The alternative asset class is split into several buckets. These include hedge funds, private equity and venture capital. BSG has a long history securing executives for all three of these subsectors. As for venture capital, it is a sector in which we’ve 20 years of history.
Pre-revenue companies at seed stage (the CEO for Zipcar that ultimately went public), to executives for Series A, B and C companies funded by investors on both East Coast and West Coast of the U.S., parts in between, and the UK. Venture-backed companies are unique, as they live and grow from funding round to funding round, value inflection point to next value inflection point. Leadership needs within these companies typically involve marrying founders who conceived of the ideas behind their companies, to non-founder executives who can successfully harmoniously fuse founder teams with non-founder scale-up team members and executives. BSG has deep domain expertise in recruiting this ilk of leadership. Whether this be in the software, hardware, healthcare or other industry segment, BSG has a proven track record of first understanding the executive need of the client, and then recruiting and securing the right executive need to fit the growth landscape.
"This is another confirmation that you really have your client's interest at heart, If I haven't said it lately, I'm a fan of yours – you’ve done really well for us."
Scott Griffith, CEO, Zipcar
“BSG filled the CEO position with an excellent candidate in an extremely short time period, and more important, this candidate turned out to be a world class CEO with extreme market knowledge and experience that was unique to our company. “
Alex Erhart, Partner, Trinity Capital Investments

This year was unique in that Allen spoke to the group about a week after the surprise 2016 presidential election, and the likely effects of a Trump administration on the economy.
