July 2022: BSG Completes Another Successful Executive Search—Associated Environmental System, Chief Executive Officer
BSG proudly announces a recently completed executive placement. Michael Shirley formally accepted the position as Chief Executive Officer for Associated Environmental Systems.
Michael Shirley joins Associated Environmental Systems as a seasoned executive with deep operational and transaction experience. These experiences have honed his skills in due diligence, acquisitions, growth equity, day-to day management, detailed financial analysis, organizational and capital restructuring, reporting, and budget/forecast management.
Michael has held many C level roles and Board positions and served as an operating partner focused on cash flow forecasting and revenue/EBITDA improvement for a variety of industries including manufacturing, battery/energy, construction and development, title/payday loans, aerospace/aviation, and agricultural. Michael has a consistent history of providing strong returns for equity holders and focus on growth of portfolio companies for private equity groups.
His most recent role was President & CEO/Board Chairman of Alexander Battery Technologies, a battery pack manufacturing company where he achieved explosive growth in revenue and profit (winning a place in the “Fastest Fifty” for the fastest growing Company in Northeast England), and he was nominated for Entrepreneur of the Year in Northeast England.
Previous roles include Managing Partner at Woodside Capital Management, where he often took full-time roles as a CEO/COO/CRO/CFO/Board Chairman of acquired companies to transition management teams. Michael received his Bachelor’s degree at Oglethorpe University before beginning his career at Price Waterhouse Coopers.
