BSG Team Ventures has recruited Gregory P. Johnson to join the leadership team at FlightCar. The charter jet operations veteran will now lead the strategic expansions and overall logistics of the car-sharing service for travelers by serving as Chief Executive Officer

“It’s an honor to have Greg [...] join the growing FlightCar family,” said Rujul Zaparde, co-founder and CEO of FlightCar. “Greg’s proven record in building businesses and implementing game-changing process improvements [...] will give us an even stronger edge as we expand our customer-centric services and presence in the rapidly growing sharing economy.”

For more than 20 years, Johnson has designed operational improvements, streamlined and integrated business processes, managed facilities planning, and led engineering teams in a range of aviation businesses, including some of the nation’s top charter jet brokerages. In 2003, he founded OneSky Jets, which became one of the top five U.S. charter brokerages before Johnson successfully negotiated the company’s acquisition by Sentient Jet, according to FlightCar.

“Consumers are increasingly embracing the sharing economy, and FlightCar is offering travelers a relevant and financially rewarding system to share their vehicle with others when out-of-town,” said Johnson. “It's a privilege to be part of this rapidly growing company, and provide my experience to help the team find customer-centric opportunities to catalyze the business by streamlining processes and implementing ideas that scale.”

FlightCar introduced its car sharing service last February and now has over 15,000 members, nearly half of which have parked at their lots across San Francisco, Boston, and Los Angeles.

    About FlightCar
FlightCar is the world’s first peer-to-peer car sharing company to operate at airports. FlightCar’s service helps people rent their car to other travelers and make extra cash instead of leaving their car unused at the airport. Backed by influential investors such as Ashton Kutcher, Alexis Ohanian, and Ryan Seacrest, the company is headstrong on pioneering the sharing economy. So far FlightCar has expanded to SFO, BOS, and LAX, with plenty of other airports in its sights. FlightCar’s founders are recent Harvard, Princeton, and MIT dropouts.
