BSG has commenced an executive search for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for our client, a rapidly scaling, venture-backed technology company headquartered in the Northeast that combines proprietary hardware with a cloud-based software (SaaS) platform to serve a diverse, global commercial customer base. The Company generates approximately $100M in revenue, is experiencing significant growth, and is actively pursuing international expansion and long-term public markets readiness. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Chief Financial Officer will oversee all finance and accounting functions globally, while building the scalable systems, processes, controls, and organizational infrastructure needed to support the Company's next phase of growth.

The Company operates at the intersection of hardware-enabled technology and SaaS analytics, creating a uniquely dynamic finance environment that combines manufacturing and inventory complexity with recurring software revenue growth.
Location: Northeast U.S. The Chief Financial Officer is expected to maintain a meaningful in-office presence and operate as a highly collaborative partner to the executive leadership team. Relocation assistance can be provided depending on total compensation package.
THE POSITION
The Chief Financial Officer will serve as a critical member of the executive leadership team and will lead the Company through its next phase of operational scale, financial institutionalization, and long-term public markets readiness.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will oversee all finance and accounting functions globally, while building scalable systems, processes, controls, forecasting capabilities, and organizational infrastructure to support rapid growth.
This role requires a rare blend of hands-on operational execution and strategic financial leadership. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable resolving complex accounting and operational issues while also partnering with investors, the Board, and executive leadership on long-term strategy, capital planning, and business performance.
Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the Company, with full accountability for financial performance, and lead the global finance organization, including accounting, FP&A, controls, reporting, treasury, tax, and operational finance. Build and institutionalize scalable financial infrastructure, processes, and controls to support continued global expansion.
- Develop a world-class FP&A function capable of delivering accurate forecasting, KPI visibility, and actionable business insights.
- Partner closely with the CEO and executive leadership team on strategic planning, pricing, margin improvement, and operational decision-making.
- Drive financial discipline across hardware and SaaS revenue streams, including cost accounting, inventory management, margin analysis, and recurring revenue reporting.
- Improve global accounting consistency and operational rigor across international entities and operations.
- Establish board-ready reporting, metrics, forecasting cadence, and long-range financial planning processes.
- Build and develop a high-performing finance organization, including recruiting, mentoring, and organizational design.
- Support future institutionalization initiatives, including audit readiness, compliance infrastructure, and long-term public markets preparedness.
- Serve as a strategic partner to investors and Board stakeholders, while helping shape the Company's long-term growth strategy.
Success in this role will be defined in the first 12 months by:
- Strengthening financial controls, accounting rigor, and forecasting accuracy across the organization.
- Building scalable FP&A capabilities and implementing a consistent operating cadence for financial planning and performance management.
- Driving measurable improvement in financial visibility, reporting quality, and executive decision support.
- Enhancing gross margin discipline and operational finance processes across hardware and SaaS operations.
- Establishing a finance organization and infrastructure capable of supporting long-term institutional scale and public markets readiness.
- Building trusted cross-functional partnerships with executive leadership, investors, and Board stakeholders.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Prior CFO or senior finance leadership experience within a high-growth, venture-backed or private equity-backed business.
- Experience scaling organizations through meaningful revenue growth and operational complexity.
- Strong hardware, manufacturing, or physical product finance experience, including cost accounting, inventory valuation, and operational finance.
- Experience managing global, multi-entity finance organizations with international accounting complexity.
- Demonstrated success building and scaling FP&A, accounting, and finance infrastructure.
- Exposure to public markets readiness, public-company preparation, or institutional finance environments.
- Strong business partnership orientation with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced founder-led environment.
- Hands-on leadership style with the ability to balance strategic thinking and operational execution.

The Chief Financial Officer will partner closely with the CEO and executive leadership team while leading a growing global finance organization. The Company maintains operations across multiple international markets and continues to expand its global operational footprint.
The role is based in the Northeast with an expectation of regular in-office collaboration.

- Comfort helping scale organizations from emerging growth stage to institutional operating maturity.
- Experience supporting rapid growth, organizational build-out, and long-term public markets readiness initiatives.
