BSG Team Ventures secures new CEO for next-generation materials leader, XG Sciences

BSG Team Ventures is very proud to announce the successful completion of the search for a new chief executive officer for XG Sciences, located in Lansing, Michigan.

XG Sciences, a leader in the field of graphene and graphene-based products, has named Philip L. Rose as chief executive officer.

“We are pleased to welcome Philip to XG Sciences,” Mike Knox, co-founder and former CEO, said. “He brings an invaluable combination of scientific and management expertise that will allow him to oversee all aspects of our continued business development. His experience in the advanced materials space as well as his strong customer focus makes him the ideal choice to lead XG Sciences through the next stage of its commercial development.”

Rose joins XG Sciences after serving as president of Sigma-Aldrich, SAFC Hitech in St. Louis, where he also held concurrent positions as chairman and chief executive officer of Sigma-Aldrich’s joint venture with Korea-based Soulbrain. Prior to that, he excelled in a number of senior business development and marketing positions for Rohm and Haas and Shipley in the United States and Asia.

A graduate of Duke University (Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry) and the University of Southern California (B.S. in Chemistry), Rose has also completed the Wharton Management Program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.
