    POSITION OVERVIEW

    HCI seeks a new CMO to lead all facets of a well-developed and well-funded marketing organization. The CMO will solidify and expand HCI’s market position with an improved content marketing strategy, optimized lead generation and continued brand development. The CMO will also develop and execute plans to increase the level of awareness of HCI’s thought leadership and innovative training products for talent management executives.

    THE POSITION

    Based ideally in Cincinnati, OH or alternatively New York, NY and reporting to the CEO, the CMO will be tasked with leading the strategy and execution of all marketing functions including, content marketing, lead generation, data analytics, branding and event marketing. Particular focus will be on positioning the HCI brand as the single source of thought leadership for Talent Management. Content marketing and optimizing multichannel lead generation will also be a priority. The CMO will have the benefit of leveraging all of HCI’s extensive, expert content across all marketing activities.
    Responsibilities of this position include the following:
    • Develop a stronger brand strategy and storytelling capability establishing HCI as the best all-around education company in talent management globally

    • Support the achievement of growth goals by directing lead generation initiatives, marketing to corporations as well and individuals

    • Lead the marketing team to bring increased efficiency to e-marketing campaigns

    • Manage and lead a marketing team of 10 while supporting the sales and event teams

    • Actively participate as a member of the senior leadership team, aid in developing company strategy, growth goals, operational plans, and key performance metrics to support integrated, rapid growth

    THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

    The ideal candidate is currently a CMO or VP of Marketing with experience managing teams that market thought leadership to corporations across multiple industries. S/he has experience building a strong, well respected brand and a proven track record of successful demand generation. S/he also has experience with budget oversight, team management, strategic planning and competitive insight analysis.

    Specifically, this individual brings the following skills and attributes -

    • 15 years plus marketing experience with specific background in marketing thought leadership and product marketing

    • Experience building a well-known successful brand

    • Successful experience communicating insights and best practices in a compelling way that captures the attention and mindshare of executives and drives positive buying decisions

    • A demonstrated track record with lead generation in a sophisticated, integrated marketing environment

    • Experience hiring and building a world class marketing team

    • Thoroughly up to date with the use of data in creating, managing, and assessing marketing campaigns

    • Experience developing and managing relevant business processes and systems, including marketing planning, CRM, ecommerce and more

    • Experience developing a new "category" and establishing company leadership in said category

    • Strength in B2B marketing; some B2C experience a plus

    • Specific experience in marketing to HR executives a plus

    • Strong general management and leadership skills developed in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, multi-tasking environment

    COMPENSATION

    Compensation will include salary, performance bonus, and equity commensurate with the individual’s experience.

    TRAVEL

    Travel will be no more than 10% in a year.
