    The Position

    Detail of Responsibilities

    The Company is seeking a seasoned and accomplished global product leadership executive with an unusual combination of skills. However, there is no question that the most critical skill is a proven ability to lead product definition and direction for a multi-product, market leading, cloud-based, enterprise application suite for enterprise-class, Global 2000 customers. The SVP Product will have a passion for and experience working with customers, sales, development and support team members to deliver world class products that fulfill existing feature/functionality needs, as well as anticipate those of the future. They will drive the full product development lifecycle in collaboration with technology, marketing, sales and UX teams.

    • Lead the definition and direction of multiple product lines utilizing input from customers, sales, competitors, senior management, and market information
    • Lead the development of product line roadmaps in support of product plans and new market/client input
    • Collaborate with CEO, CTO, and CMO to develop product strategy, requirements, and product roadmap
    • Lead and manage a core team of Product Managers in the definition, design, and development of key features for commercial product release
    • Define and deliver on product launch plans in coordination with the Product Marketing team
    • Interface with customers and sales to drive product direction, ensuring that product capabilities meet and exceed market needs, offering significant differentiation
    • Lead the definition of release scope and work alongside Technology leadership to establish release dates
    • Work with software development and UX teams during product design and development to ensure requirements are being met
    • Lead cross-functional teams responsible for preparing all aspects of the company for successful product launches (e.g., documentation and training for sales, customer support, professional services, and operations)
    • Work with Product Marketing to define product positioning, messaging, benefits, pricing, etc. and provide implementation support to deliver product information, demos and sales tools to the sales team and market

    Key skills, experience, and segment background include the following:

    FUNCTIONAL EXPERIENCE

    • Product team leadership of > 8 (hiring, training, measuring, motivating)
    • Track record of translating client needs into product business requirements and feature-functionality
    • Partnering with application development leadership and teams to deliver new features/functionality according to requirements and design framework
    • Global 2000 client relationship management working with B2B C-level customers
    • Products roadmap ownership, prioritization and trade-offs management
    • Working successfully with all key product roadmap stakeholders--customers, executive team, sales, development, marketing, etc.
    • Prior product management leadership experience with rapid release cycle management (e.g. Agile, SCRUM, etc.)
    • Success in leading teams tasked with user experience/engagement optimization (A/B user testing etc.)
    • "nose" for compelling web design
    • Market research (user focused) "voice of the consumer" re: features/functionality (generating engagement funnel)
    • Strong business sense for how to develop & assess revenue generating features/functionality
    • Deep understanding of product profitability
    • Demonstrated success leading requirements documents creation and maintenance that capture and define prioritized product requirements in line with overall company strategy
    • Proven passion for tracking competitor offerings, both current and yet-to-be released
    • Leading definition of release scope & partnering with CTO on release dates
    • Partnering with cross-functional teams responsible for product launches (documentation, training, customer support, professional services, and operations)
    • Partnering with product marketing to help define product positioning, messaging, benefits, pricing etc.

    INDUSTRY -- B2B corporate solutions [SaaS powered services]

    • Applicant tracking software systems (PeopleSoft Staffing, eRecruit, WorkDay, etc.)
    • ERP, non-staffing related (Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, PTC)
    • SaaS CRM software (SalesForce, SugarCRM, MS Dynamics, SalesLogix, etc.)

    CORPORATE STAGE

    • Working with board of Directors comprised of Founder and investors
    • Sales growth from $100—> $250M+
    • Builder leader vs. optimizer leader
    • Building processes and best practice without suffocating speed, innovation, and client satisfaction

    MANAGEMENT & LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE

    • Driving creation and buy-in to KPIs, goals, metrics within own team and cross-functionally where appropriate/necessary
    • Remote/multi-office team management US & outside of the US
    • Track record of hiring/upgrading to A players for A team

    MARKETS & CUSTOMERS (Global 2000)

    • Staffing services companies
    • Professional services companies (consulting firms, PR firms, law firms, etc.)
    • Services firms (other)

    GEOGRAPHIC Position Location

    • MA-based, commutable to South Boston/Innovation District
    • St. Louis-based
    • London-based
    • Northern CA-based
    • Elsewhere in US

    • In general, the business and personal skills, and the absolute commitment, required to make a major contribution to The Company during the coming years.

    The Team

    The Company's product management team currently consists of approximately 8, with plans for additional growth. The total Company team numbers approximately 350.

    Originally venture backed by a number of investors including General Catalyst, The Company was recently bought by well-respected private equity firm Vista Equity Partners in 2013.

    Compensation

    Compensation is competitive with the position’s requirements. In a performance-based environment, this will include base salary, bonus structure based on corporate qualitative and quantitative business development targets, and a stakeholder position in the company.
